Outstanding three-year-old filly Ygritte will run in the $1 million Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on September 13.

Trainer Gerald Ryan today told Racing Network it was a $1 million race which coiuld not be ignored.

“Yes she’ll run in the Golden Rose if she gets into the field,” he said. “It’s a million-dollar race on our home track so you can’t ignore it."

Ygritte will resume in Saturday’s Group 3 $125,000 San Domenico Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens and Ryan says she has come back very well.

“She proved in the autumn she was right up to the best level and she has come back well,” he said.

“If she runs well on Saturday she’ll go to the Run To The Rose (Group 3, $125,000, August 30) then on to the Golden Rose,” he said.

“Her main aims are the Flight Stakes in Sydney and the Thousand Guineas in Melbourne,” Ryan explained.

In the Sydney autumn Ygritte followed a Kembla Grange Maiden win with seconds in the Group 3 Widden Stakes, Group 3 Thoroughbred Breeders Stakes and the Group 3 Keith McKay Stakes.

Kerrin McEvoy has been booked to ride the filly from gate three in the San Domenico Stakes on Saturday.
