Good or bad? You can decide...The Seven Network has increased its standing as Australia's free-to-air racing broadcast partner after adding key spring and autumn dates in Melbourne and Sydney to its coverage of the Melbourne Cup Carnival. This ends split racing coverage between Seven and Channel Nine. In a landmark agreement between TVN and Seven, a raft of top Grp 1 race days formerly broadcast by Nine now join Seven. The Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate carnivals in Melbourne and Sydney's BMW and Golden Slipper carnivals are the backbone of Seven's racing coverage, along with its continued broadcast of Melbourne Cup week until at least 2018. A total of 27 race days will make up Seven's racing coverage each year. Major spring carnival additions mean that racing will be broadcast live from late August through to mid-November.
