So what happened to the Melbourne Cup prospects in the Ebor? None fared well. Martyr was sent out fav at 9/2 and ran 10th, Fortuni was 15th at 9/1, Dangerous Midge ran 8th at 11/1, Darley Sun was 12th at 14/1 and Sopranist was 7th at 40/1. In the Lonsdale Cup, three Cups entries all ran ordinarily - King of Wands 3rd at 3/1, Illustrious Blue 5th at 7/1 and Akmal 7th at 11/2.
