Good to see James Winks is back riding after that bad fall at Flemington on May 8. Winks copped broken ribs and a punctured lung in a fall from The Fugitive. He returned to riding in jumpouts at Flemington last Friday and will resume his race-riding career at Friday's Geelong Synthetic meeting. Meantime, badly injured jockey Pat Ferris has been transferred to Westmead Hospital. His family issued the following statement: 'The most important thing...is for everybody to give Patrick some time to recuperate for the next two weeks and that visits be only from his immediate family; his brothers and sisters, mother and father and Jenna and the baby of course...Pat needs a lot of rest, even yesterday he was staying awake for 15-20 minutes at a time, but he does get very tired....His left hand side is not moving as freely as his right hand side, but that is due to the injury of the brain, so he is going to need a lot of physiotherapy.'
