The lightly raced three-year-old from the John Size yard is as big as any horse in Hong Kong, tipping the scales at 1,316 pounds the night he won over this course earlier this month.
There was plenty of opinion Dr Super (Douglas Whyte) would find the small Valley track difficult to negotiate, especially from barrier 11, but he was nimble enough to not only get around the track comfortably but cross and lead.
That race was on the "B" course so tonight's "A" track race should suit him even better, with a wider track and turns that aren't quite as sharp, though his rivals will doubtless be looking for Whyte as he seeks the front this time.
Drawn underneath Dr Super are speedy horses he beat last time, like Mr Vigorous (Ben So Tik-hung), Glenealy Star and My Goal , and they may try to make the big gelding earn his way to the front more expensively.
But Dr Super is one of the two runners with real scope for progress and is entitled to favouritism on that basis.
