The world’s highest rated and best sprinter, Lankan Rupee, is ready to do the business when he resumes at the Valley on Saturday, reports Racing Network.

His astute trainer, Caulfield mentor Mick Price, this morning told Racing Network the horse has had an ideal preparation leading into his first-up assignment in tomorrow’s Group 2 $200,000 Mitty’s McEwen Stakes (1000m).

“He was bouncing here (at Caulfield) this morning – he’s ready,” Price said with a confident tone in his voice.

Lankan Rupee was a revelation of Australian sprinting in the autumn.

He went from a promising sprinter with seemingly 'limitations', to the best speed-horse in the land and ultimately the highest rated sprinter in the world.

His wins in the Oakleigh Plate, Newmarket Handicap and the T.J. Smith Stakes in Sydney enforced that.

Tomorrow he has drawn the outside barrier – 9 – in the McEwen Stakes first-up, but in fixed-odds markets he is quoted a prohibitive $1.25 to win on resumption.
