Waller tipped to score another Epsom triumph

TAB form and pricing analysts are backing premier trainer Chris Waller to notch a hat-trick of wins in the Epsom Handicap during the upcoming Spring Carnival.

Opening up the Epsom market today, TAB has installed the Waller-trained Kermadec and Royal Descent as $8 equal favourites with First Seal and Pornichet.

Royal Descent finished a narrow second to stablemate Hes Your Man in last year's race while Kermadec was ultra impressive in winning Randwick's other mile feature, the Doncaster, back in the Autumn.

“It is very hard to spilt the runners at the top of betting,” said TAB’s Glenn Munsie

“Waller has two of the four equal favourites in Doncaster Mile winner, Kermadec, and last year’s Epsom runner-up, Royal Descent.”

“Chris Waller and John O’Shea have nine of the top 15 in the market.”

TAB also opened up The Metropolitan with O'Shea and Godolphin appearing to have a strong hand in this race.

Heading the market is Hartnell ($8) who was an ultra impressive in winning The BMW during the Autumn carnival. O'Shea also has the equal second pick in Hauraki ($11) that announced his arrival in the big time with a sensational victory in the Tulloch Stakes back in late March.

Also at $11 are Havana Cooler and Magic Hurricane, the latter also a member of the O'Shea barn who is racing at Rosehill this weekend.

In other betting news:

*Press Statement is the $6 favourite to win the Spring Champion Stakes. He resumes at Rosehill tomorrow.

*Rageese is the only other runner under double figures

*River Wild, an impressive winner on debut, is at $11 and is also racing at Rosehill on Saturday.
