STAR colt Sepoy will be the Darley operation's flagbearer at Caulfield on Saturday, but there are some talented back-up runners from the Peter Snowden stable in black-type events, reports Bart Sinclair in the Courier-Mail newspaper.

His rep;ort adds: Golden Slipper winner Sepoy is primed for a successful return in the Vain Stakes (1100m). Snowden has set himself a target of enhancing Sepoy's already huge stud value this spring so the colt has been readied to win first-up.

"He's nowhere near his top. I've set a program to go through to the Coolmore Stud Stakes on Derby Day at Flemington," Snowden said. "But he's been in work three months so he is ready to run very well."

Snowden also will have Parables resuming in the Cockram Stakes, Glissade in the Quezette Stakes and Bullbars in the Regal Roller Stakes. Parables had only a light autumn carnival. She has not appeared since winning the Surround Stakes (1400m) at Warwick Farm on March 5.

Redoute's Choice filly Glissade has been off the scene since finishing runner-up to One Last Dance in the Blue Diamond Prelude in February. Bullbars who finished second to Shamrocker in the Australian guineas in the autumn will be watched with interest in the 1200m Regal Roller.

Back in Sydney, Snowden will have Soul coming back in the Starlight Stakes and Kindgarten Stakes winner Anise kicking off her spring campaign in the San Domenico Stakes at Rosehill. Snowden expects Soul to step up to the mark this campaign.
