Peter Moody looks a strong chance of making it three wins on end in the Listed ATA/Bob Hoysted Handicap (1000m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Moody won the race last year with Panipique, as well as the year before with Master Harry.

In Saturday's renewal of the race named in honour of former long standing Australian Trainers' Association President, Bob Hoysted, Moody has two of the leading chances in Ready To Rip and Karuta Queen.

''It looks a competitive race but they are both there to run well,'' Moody said.

Both horses are newcomers to the Moody stable with Ready To Rip commencing his second campaign for the champion trainer, while Karuta Queen steps out for him for the first time.

Stable rider Luke Nolen takes the reins on Karuta Queen with Brad Rawiller aboard Ready To Rip.

Former Queenslander Ready To Rip, arrived in Moody's yard with an impressive first up record and he kept it up, winning the listed Victorian Sprint Series Final at his first Victorian start in July last year.

Moody said the six-year-old had progressed well and he expected a big run first up although he did express some concerns about having to carry top weight of 60 kilograms.

''Old Ready To Rip is in great shape," Moody said.'

''He's weighted right up to his best with 60 kilos but he's a big strong horse and did win first up for us up the straight last time.''

''He is unbeaten in four first up runs and he has done nothing to indicate that he won't run a super race fresh again.''

While Moody now has a bit of a handle on Ready To Rip, he admits he is still learning about Karuta Queen and elected to give her another weeks work rather than starting in the Oakleigh Plate over 1100 metres last Saturday.

''I just wasn't happy with her condition going in to the Oakleigh Plate and I think the 1000 on Saturday is a better trip for her at this stage.

''Her work has been solid and she won a trial here a month back but has just been a bit slow to get going.''

Moody said if Karuta Queen performs well she could head to Sydney to contest the Group 1 The Galaxy, while Ready To Rip will have a slow preparation with the intention of taking him to Queensland where he is owned, for the Winter carnival.

TAB has Isabella Snowflake marked as the $3.50 favourite for the Hoysted ahead of Ready to Rip at $4.80, with Karuta Queen on the third line of betting at $5.00.
