MASTER juvenile conditioner Clarry Conners has warned punters the official Randwick barrier trials could turn out to be no help at all in finding the Breeders Plate and Gimcrack Stakes winners tomorrow, reports the Sydney Morning Herald.

It says: Conners's fillies Debelle and Offer performed well at the trials and will line up in the Gimcrack. He also had a couple of other two-year-olds that he thought were ''good'' but failed in the wet at Randwick only to win trials since. ''The track was pretty ordinary that day and I think there might be a couple that come out and improve lengths on a firm surface,'' Conners said. ''I don't think we learnt a lot about them in those trials.''

A four-time Golden Slipper winner, Conners makes a habit of having a strong two-year-old team and is happy with Debelle, a winner of trials at Warwick Farm and Randwick, and Offer, a daughter of Redoute's Choice out of Slipper placegetter Media. ''Debelle has done everything right, as has Offer,'' Conners said. ''It's hard to split considering they have both drawn well.''

David Payne-trained Defiant Dame is the early favourite at $3.10 in the Gimcrack after being impressive in the first barrier trial at Randwick, winning by 4.3 lengths. Offer is a $6.50 second elect, while Debelle could be the value at $13.
