Blake Shinn is expected to appeal his careless riding charge suspension incurred at Royal Randwick on Wednesday in a bid to ride Cyclone in the Magic Millions Classic. Shinn has not yet officially indicated to Racing NSW of his intentions but will do so before the close of business on Thursday.

Shinn was hit with a seven meeting ban for his ride on Takewing, which stewards deemed caused interference to Brenton Avdulla's mount Millars Crossing in the home straight.

The Gai Waterhouse stable are prepared to wait for the result of Shinn's appeal before finding a replacement rider for Cyclone in the $2 million race at the Gold Coast on January 11. (racingnetwork).
