Glen Boss has picked up the ride on Melbourne Cup hope Linton in Saturday's Lexus Stakes at Flemington replacing the suspended Nick Hall.

Boss will also ride Cox Plate runner-up Zipping should owner Lloyd Williams elect to back him for another round against So You Think in the Mackinnon Stakes.

Hall was outed for his winning ride on Lady Lynette in Saturday's Group Three Pulse Pharmacy Stakes.

He was found guilty of causing interference to three other runners at the 400m mark of the race.

Hall elected to forgo mounts at Sale on Sunday in order to start his ban immediately, allowing him to return in time for Melbourne Cup day.

Linton and Zipping are among four runners Williams still has in the Cup with C'est La Guerre and Mourayan making up the quartet.

Zipping missed last year's Cup but has run in three others, coming fourth in 2006 and again in 2007 and finishing ninth the following year.

After his second to So You Think in the Cox Plate, stable spokesman Nick Williams said he would be keen for Zipping to meet So You Think in the Mackinnon (2000m).

"I am not sure where we will go with him but I would like to have another race against So You Think at Flemington, that's what I would like to do," Williams said.

"The winner (So You Think) is an absolutely outstanding horse. "He's a champion.

"Nick said we have been a bit unlucky, that we have probably run into Phar Lap, but it is fantastic that (Zipping) at nine-years of age can compete with him."

Boss rode So You Think to his first Cox Plate victory a year ago when the colt carried 49.5kg as a three-year-old.

Danny Nikolic was also outed at the Cox Plate meeting and has until Monday to lodge an appeal.

Like Hall, he is scheduled to miss Saturday's Derby day and return in time for the Cup.
