Bart Cummings will decide on race day whether Without Compromise runs in Saturday's Listed Civic Stakes at Rosehill.

Without Compromise is a dual acceptor for the meeting, down to run in both the 1400-metre Civic Stakes in which he has 53kg and the Inghams Love'em Hcp (1500m) where he is topweight with 59.5kg.

Cummings' racing manager Bill Charles said the master trainer wanted to see what the weather throws up overnight before making his decision.

"We want to see what the condition of the track is in the morning and Bart will make the decision after that," Charles said.

The Rosehill surface was rated a slow (7) on Friday with the forecast for mostly sunny and windy conditions.

Without Compromise is undefeated from two goes on heavy tracks but is yet to win on slow surfaces from two attempts.

"He's going to be competitive if he does run in the Civic. He's already had a crack at a nice race when he was with Greg Hickman in the Royal Sovereign Stakes and he ran fifth," Charles said.

The four-year-old produced a stunning comeback from injury at his stable debut for Cummings at Randwick in April.

It was his first start since March last year and he was sent out at $17 and given little chance by most - except Cummings who backed him.

Without Compromise followed the win with a second to Noble Edict at Randwick two weeks later before having a seven week let-up.

He ran fourth to Comepsa at Rosehill on June 13 and was third in a 1050-metre barrier trial at Randwick on June 26.

TAB Sportsbet has Without Compromise as the equal third favourite at $8.50 for the Civic Stakes along with Prince Braeman and Cocoruru.

Mr Unforgettable is the $4 favourite ahead of last-start Takeover Target Stakes winner Strat's Flyer at $6.50.

Meanwhile, Rod Quinn will not ride at Rosehill and faces at least a week on the sidelines after suffering rib damage in a fall after the post at Wyong on Thursday.

Quinn fell from Crystal Club who finished seventh in the David Roe Solicitor Handicap (2100m).

"Things got a little bit tight going into the turn after the winning post and the horse outside of me stepped in a bit and I ran out of room," Quinn said.

"I landed on my shoulder and that hurt yesterday but it's my ribs which hurt today (Friday), they've told me they are bruised and I'll be out for about a week."
