No Quarter Given
Bart Cummings is our greatest living trainer. I don't think that's in dispute.
On July 4 at Rosehill he's entered a relatively new acquisition, WITHOUT COMPROMISE, in two races. Of course the horse will only run in one of them.
The horse has had quite a deal of media attention, and is very differently placed in the two events. In one, over 1400 metres, he carries the limit 53 kgs in a listed race worth $100K. In the other (1500 metres) the horse carries the topweight of 59.5 kgs for $70K and no black type.
He has drawn barrier 6 in both races.
So which way will Bart jump?
We may learn something of the great man's tactics from this decision. Let's wait and see, then study the result of the decision.
(late note - Bart has opted for the big weight on this slow track... and less prizemoney).
