Randwick:After last nights magnificent win by Danleigh we move forward to the 1600m Wfa George Main Stakes and this race is also going to be a beauty. The logical selection is Racing To Win as his last start win wasn't just a win: it was a dominating win. There is absolutely no reason that suggests he cannot add to his 3 unbeaten runs at the track & distance.Vision and Power's 1.2L defeat by Miss Marielle, after being slow out and receiving a check, was exactly what connections wanted to see

Randwick:
After last nights magnificent win by Danleigh we move forward to the 1600m Wfa George Main Stakes and this race is also going to be a beauty. The logical selection is Racing To Win as his last start win wasn't just a win: it was a dominating win. There is absolutely no reason that suggests he cannot add to his 3 unbeaten runs at the track & distance.

Vision and Power's 1.2L defeat by Miss Marielle, after being slow out and receiving a check, was exactly what connections wanted to see as todays race is a pivotal race in their march to the WS Cox Plate.

Black Piranha's condition gave out at the 100m mark in the Cameron Handicap at Newcastle and he may still need this run 2nd up today but in the Autumn wherever Vision and Power finished Black Piranha finished right beside him (beaten both times though) so why not again.

Onemorenomore has magic weight of 50.5kg that 3yo's love this time of the year but he has to step up in class today. We will know later today.

Mentality also loves the 1600m at Randwick however I am just starting to worry about him a fraction and today he really needs to reappear as the younger Mentality we know. My roughie of the race is Road To Rock. In the Autumn he ran three crackerjack wfa races over 2000m behind the likes of Theseo, Viewed, Niconero and Pompeii Ruler and any replication of those runs sees him as the giant killer at the fixed odds of 50/1.

The two other races I am interested in are Race 7 where I have selected Mr Tipsy just ahead of Mr Clangtastic and a smidgin to Voice Coach. For fourth I slotted in Bellagio Wynn based on his run behind Voice Coach but I think the race is more between the top three.

Race 8: Madame Pedrille she should win this easily and is the clear second best bet of the day behind Denman. It was a shame to see her checked twice and held up when beaten by Hot Danish and when she finally saw daylight she flew but, of course, Hot Danish is such a top class mare the ground could not be made up in time. I am simply going to take her in First Fours with Chinchilla Rose, Bernicia, Zarock , Jewelled Gate, Indirect and Strawberry Fields. For the record I will have Bernicia for 2nd, Strawberry Fields for 3rd and Jewelled Gate for 4th but I have to be honest and say I am guessing with their order.

PERTH
Race 5

A Reflective Star
B Foxy Boy
Good quinella AB: nothing between them on their day depending on race pace
C Star Laser - 0 from 11 at distance but 4 seconds
D Casper Cowboy
I am amazed to see Casper Cowboy in the pre post betting at $3.80 in "The Sportsman". Bar his last start at 1200m all his other wins are at 1000m. I would have thought 7/1 more likely at first 1400m run

Race 8
A Pillow Time - mare vs open but last start win was a beauty
B Mega Steel - classy: if fit for this will beat Pillow Time
C Shock Value - well beaten by Kid Choisir (classy) but thrashed Chopin for third
Box exacta will go close on ABC
D Hide The Loot - keeps placing just from E Broome Time - not firing every run

Only 1 runner today: Joseph Pride with Vision And Power

WFA/Set wts Best Horse
Certainly was Apache Cat last night, for the record. He is on target for another win soon. What a horse.

Today:
Race 2: Denman: will only be beaten if pace is against him. Clear best bet of the day.
Race 6: Racing To Win: what a career
Race 8: Madame Pedrille: a weights special: should lead and win

My apologies for not providing podcast for those that prefer that medium. I will find out on Monday what is causing the problem but do not have the time this morning.

I will be backing Geelong to win the AFL Grand Final. Around $1.65 on Betfair seems close to right for a team that has fit players, finals experience, had an easy win last week versus St Kilda's brutal encounter with the Bulldogs and love playing in wet conditions which will be the order of the day.

Good luck whatever you back wherever. God knows we punters need it.
