Sunday's Bendigo meeting has been called off due to the waterlogged state of the track. Stewards made the decision after a 7.45am track inspection.

Champion trainer Peter Moody will aim the impressive Caulfield winner Curtana for the Grp 1 Thousand Guineas in the spring. Stablemate Willow Creek, due to return from a spell at Caulfield on Aug 28, isd after the same race. Moody was excited by Curtana's Caulfield victory. He says: 'The way she finished off there showed that the mile in the Guineas won't be a worry for her...She's got a bit of class about her.' Curtana is expected to have her next run in a Stakes race at Moonee Valley on Aug 21. Another Moody stable star, Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily, is due to resume in the Quezette Stakes at Caulfield in a fortnight. She's also a possible contender for the Guineas though Moody queries whether she can run a strong 1600m.
