She's in but out...Superstar Black Caviar has stifled betting on Saturday's Grp 2 Schweppes Stakes at Moonee Valley. The unbeaten mare who is shooting for win number 15 will face just four rivals in the race and Betstar has framed a market on the race without her in it. Betstar's Alan Eskander says most punters will be happy to just watch Black Caviar go round but those who want to have a bet on the race have their chance. He says: "We've framed a market without her to accommodate those punters who like to have an interest. Black Caviar would be at prohibitive odds anyway so this way you can cheer home 'Caviar' and get something out of picking whatever runs second. It's a double celebration," Eskander said. Former Horse of the Year Scenic Blast is favourite at $2 with Black Caviar out ahead of Balavan at $4. The only other acceptors for the race are Doubtful Jack ($4.40) and Here De Angels ($5.50).
Betstar will release a market with Black Caviar in the field on Friday morning. Alan Eskander says: "We'll probably put her up about $1.04 and people will have the chance to include her in their multiple bets but the way things are going, we may have to come up with some new bet types for her races...You have to wonder just how many rivals she is going to have in the Patinack Classic on Emirates Stakes Day. The way trainers are being scared off, it could turn into an exhibition gallop!"
