UK stayer Munsef has come into Melbourne Cup limelight following his 2700m Chester Stakes win at the weekend. The 7YO son of Zafonic won by a half-length to take his record to three wins and a second from four starts for young trainer Ian Williams. He's around $35 in latest Cup betting, which seems well under the true odds.

Black Piranha's dam Jazztrack has returned to Willowbend Stud. Brisbane breeder David Israel will be hoping Jazztrack, in foal to Clang, can produce a full relation to last season's Stradbroke winner after a frustrating run of outs. Jazztrack has failed to put a foal on the ground in four seasons after producing Black Piranha at her debut stud year in 2003. Earlier this month, Jazztrack was crowned Queensland Broodmare of the Year at the Queensland Racing Awards Night.
