Dan Nikolic just can't keep out of strife in Melbourne...He was suspended for careless riding by Racing Victoria stewards at Moonee Valley on Saturday. They charged Nikolic for his ride on Whitbread Lass in the Twilight Racing Handicap (1600m) claiming he allowed her to shift in approaching the 800m, where there was insufficient room, causing Apennine to be checked severely and a number of other runners to be eased. Nikolic pleaded guilty. He can return to riding on Dec 3.
