Flying mare Snitzerland trialled impressively at Rosehill Gardens this morning and is on target to tackle several Group 1 sprinting races in Melbourne. Trainer Gerald Ryan told Racing Network that Snitzerland jumped, led and won her trial this morning and he was really pleased.
“She went really well, did everything I wanted and now she’s on her way to Melbourne where she will run first-up in the Moir,” Ryan said.
The race he is referring to is the Group 1 $400,000 Schweppes Stakes (formerly the Moir) over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on Friday week.
It is the highlight of the night meeting on Grand Final eve in Melbourne.
Ryan said his intention after that was to go to the $1 million Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 25 (Cox Plate Eve) with Snitzerland.
“This morning’s trial was exactly what she needed and I’m very happy to be sending her to Melbourne now,” he added.
