Group winner in the making? Could be as far as Mick Price's newcomer Porsched is concerned. The Dehere colt bolted home on debut at Moonee Valley. MP says: 'He's one of those sleepy colts...We switched him on in a trial at Caulfield which he won... I just think it's a sign of a good horse that can sit outside the leader and win, especially at Moonee Valley where it's a tough 1200 metres...I can smell Black type with this one.'

Betting drifters DO win...Porsched was unwanted in betting and drifted from $3.60 to start at $7. But those who backed the flashy grey had no worries in the run as he sat outside the early leader, So Fast So Good, then simply zipped away in the straight.
