Apparently running scared of anti-jumps protesters, Racing Victoria has pulled out its support of the popular Australia versus Ireland Jumps Challenge. The challenge, popular over two decades, has pitted four Irish jumps jockeys against four in South Australia and four in Victoria in a number of races..until this year. Racing Victoria this year decided not to fund its share of the series, leaving the South Australian Jockey Club and Thoroughbred Racing SA to go it alone. RV's pullout is another indication that moves are well underway to ban jumps racing.
