ATC General Racecourse Manager, Lindsay Murphy, says Saturday’s Rosehill Gardens meeting will probably be run on a slow track.

Heavy rain in this part of Australia has caused some major problems for race-clubs heading into the weekend, but Murphy today told Racing Network a revised forecast for Sydney was encouraging.

“Yesterday was a terrible day but today is good and the forecast is also pretty good now,” he told RN.

“We’d probably be in the ‘heavy 8’ range now but we’re expecting mostly fine weather from here through until Saturday, with maybe a shower or two, but that’s all. I’d be hoping and expecting we’d be in the slow range by Saturday,” Murphy concluded.

In Victoria, today’s Seymour meeting has had to be abandoned and Monday’s Mildura meeting has been transferred to Echuca because of the wet weather.

At Canterbury in Sydney and Sportingbet Park in Melbourne yesterday the tracks both finished up racing on heavy 10 surfaces after constant rain through the day.
