It says: Leanda "Chick" Spriggs, who is the mother of Gai Waterhouse's star apprentice Blake Spriggs, made a formal statement to detectives that she received an offensive multimedia message sent to her mobile phone on her 50th birthday in May. The video was accompanied by an offensive text message.
Newcastle detectives have identified the phone that sent the message and have spoken to its owner, who is involved in racing, as well as another personality, who is mentioned in the text message.
