AS THE Melbourne metropolitan scene chills out with winter closing in, leading trainer Peter Moody is looking interstate in search of black-type races, starting with Sunday's group 1 Goodwood Sprint in Adelaide, reports The Age.

It says: Moody saddles up lightly raced sprinter Captain Coltish in the Goodwood as he chases an important group 1 win for the stallion prospect.

"He's going lovely this prep and had a nice freshen up after he won a listed race at Flemington back in March. He's drawn well and should run well," Moody said.

Captain Coltish is a close relation to stakes-winning stallions Murtajill and Bradbury's Luck so a placing or a victory on Sunday would all-but guarantee the four-year-old a home at stud at the end of his career.

The trainer plans to send six horses to Adelaide for the Super Sunday meeting, including consistent miler Excelltastic and potential Queensland Oaks contender Fair Oak.
