Gun colt Exosphere has firmed in betting for the TJ Smith Stakes on day one at The Championships at Randwick on April 2.

 

The John O’Shea-trained winner of the Golden Rose was cut from $6 to $4.60 after finishing second in his trial behind Lyric at Warwick Farm this morning.

 

“That certainly wasn’t the Exosphere we saw in the Coolmore on Derby Day, he couldn’t have been more impressive”, TAB’s Glenn Munsie said.

 

“James McDonald had a hard hold on him and accordingly we cut his price to win the TJ Smith where his main rival is Chautauqua.”

 

The Team Hawkes runner remains the $3.50 favourite to win the sprint feature of Sydney’s autumn carnival.
