Godolphin colt Exosphere has opened the $2.40 favorite to win the Group 1 Black Caviar Lightning 1000 metres at Flemington on Saturday.
The Golden Rose winner just heads the all-in market from Darley Classic runner-up, Chautauqua ($3), and winner, Delectation ($6.50).
“What a race this will be and Exosphere has earned favouritism on the back of a couple of excellent trials”, TAB’s Glenn Munsie told Practical Punting.
“The star colt has won five of eight starts, however punters will need to be forgiving of his failure behind Japonisme up the Flemington straight in the Coolmore on Derby Day.”
John O’Shea also trains the favourite to win the Group 2 Silver Slipper Stakes at Rosehill this weekend, Astern.
The colt has opened a $2.80 favourite, with Gai Waterhouse-trained filly Scarlet Rain next in the market at $3.50, followed by Defcon ($4.60) from the Snowden yard.
