Good news...Champion sprinter Black Caviar has been cleared of any cobalt issue that might have affected her winning performance in the 2011 TJ Smith Stakes at Randwick.

NSW chief steward Ray Murrihy is to release a statement that clears the champion mare of having any cobalt in her system on the day she easily beat Hay List in what is regarded as one of her best wins.

The Herald Sun says it understands that Murrihy did not single out the world’s greatest sprinter for testing. She happened to be among a host of gallopers whose frozen samples were tested as NSW delved into the cobalt issue.

Peter Moody, who trained the winner of all her 25 career starts, has appealed to Racing Victoria to conduct similar tests of all her wins in a bid to clear her name from any suspicion regarding cobalt.
