CRAIG Williams added another Japanese feature race to his profile when he won the $568,000 Group 2 Kanto Oaks under lights at the Kawaski circuit in Tokyo last night.
It’s the biggest success for Williams during his current stint in Japan, which finishes on June 29 with the Group 1 Takarazuka Kinen meeting.
In previous trips, Williams has won the Group 1 Tenno Sho (spring), the NHK Mile and the Asahi Futurity.
Williams will return to Melbourne for about a week before heading to England for the July festival at Newmarket, where he's expected to ride for Marco Botti. He'll then have a European vacation before returning to ride at Goodwood and Ascot.
