Trainer Mike Moroney has been fined $1000 over a short-acting corticosteroid detected in a post-race sample from a horse in his care.
Trainer Mike Moroney has been fined $1000 after an inquiry into a horse from his stable returning a positive result to a short-acting corticosteriod after a win at Bendigo.
Moroney pleaded guilty to presenting Equestria to race on March 6 when a prohibited substance was detected in the gelding's system in a post-race urine sample.
Equestria's sample was found to contain Dexamethasone.
As well as fining Moroney on Thursday, the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board has also disqualified Equestria from the Bendigo race.
