Master trainer Chris Waller has identified next month's Black Caviar Lightning as the return to racing for two sprint stars Nature Strip and September Run.

Chris Waller's two star sprinters Nature Strip and September Run will both resume in the Black Caviar Lightning at Flemington next month.

Waller said they had both come through their trial at Rosehill last Friday in great style and would kick off their autumn campaigns in the Group One 1000 metres sprint on February 13.

Nature Strip finished fourth in the Black Caviar Lightning last year as a $1.45 favourite behind Gytrash when he was also first-up.

At his last run he finished second to Bivouac in the VRC Sprint Classic over 1200 metres at Flemington.

Three-year-old filly September Run won her last three starts down the Flemington straight over spring which culminated in a win in the Group One Coolmore Stakes.

"It's pretty exciting to take two horses like that to the Lightning Stakes first up. Then they'll meander their way through the autumn from there," Waller said on Melbourne radio station RSN on Monday morning.

Waller said he hoped to have one or two starters in The All-Star Mile at The Valley on March 13 but the race had to fit into a horse's program.

He identified Verry Elleegant as an ideal horse for The All-Star Mile.

"If I set Verry Elleegant for the All-Star Mile she would be hard to beat but only if doesn't impact on races like the Queen Elizabeth," Waller said.

Waller said Verry Elleegant would most likely resume in the Apollo Stakes over 1400 metres at Randwick on February 13.

He said that the five-year-old mare had returned to work a heavier horse which he was pleased with and would make it easier to train her.

He said that in other campaigns she had to have a month between her first and second runs back from a spell but he would be able to go two weeks between runs this time in.

Entries for Friday night's feature Group 2 sprint, the Australia Stakes at The Valley have been extended until tomorrow morning after they only attracted five entries which were Isaurian, Widgee Turf, Arcadia Prince, Streets Of Avalon and Tavisan.

TAB fixed odds have installed Isaurian as a $1.50 favourite.
