Craig Williams will be in Singapore on Sunday to test the Melbourne spring credentials of the Steven Burridge-trained Dark Matter.

Williams is heading to Singapore after riding at Saturday's Bletchingly Stakes meeting at Caulfield.

Dark Matter runs in the Group Three Magic Millions Juvenile Championship (1200m) at Kranji with Williams invited by the colt's connections to give his opinion on the rising three-year-old ahead of a possible trip to Melbourne.

"The reason they asked me to go over is they think the horse could be a potential (Caulfield) Guineas horse at the spring carnival," Williams said.

"They are hoping he can live up to that and that's the reason they have asked me to go over and have a feel of him and see what I think."

Dark Matter, a son of Stratum, has two wins and a second in his three starts in Singapore.

"I'm looking forward to it," Williams said.

"I've only been back racing here at home for two weeks (after a stint in Japan). He (Dark Matter) looks an exciting horse on the replays."

Williams was in Sydney on Friday morning to put a number of Patinack Farm-owned horses through their paces at the Warwick Farm barrier trials, including dual Group One-placed filly Pane In The Glass.

The jockey said his flying visit to Singapore would also be a great chance for him to catch up with his good friend Vlad Duric.

Duric, the 2007 Caulfield Cup-winning jockey aboard Master O'Reilly, rides in Singapore and is currently second in the premiership.

"Vlad was apprenticed to my father the same time I was," Williams said.

"We grew up together. It will be good to catch up with him."

Williams has five other rides at the Kranji meeting including Group One Singapore Gold Cup winner Risky Business in the Group Two Chairman's Trophy (1800m).
