When Goulburn trainer Danny Williams zeroed in on a race at Saturday's Rosehill meeting for War Charm, he never expected it to turn out so strong.

War Charm, an impressive city midweek winner at Kembla Grange last start, will line up in Saturday's The Anthony Cocco Handicap (1350m) as one of six last-start winners including Hoylonny and Angel Of Mercy.

"We were always looking towards this race on Saturday but we were hoping it was going to be a little bit easier than it appears on paper," Williams said.

"It looks a very strong race. The last couple of weeks the three-year-old races haven't looked so strong, but there's something a bit more special about this race. We'll definitely see where he fits in the scheme of things."

War Charm has won three of his nine starts, including the 2-1/4-length success with 58kg over 1200m at Kembla last Wednesday week.

The Chris Waller-trained Hoylonny has been the big firmer with TAB Sportsbet since the market opened on Wednesday, tightening from $4.60 in to $3.40 favouritism.

Impressive last-start winner Angel Of Mercy has remained at $4 while War Charm is at $4.80.

"I believe Chris (Waller) has a big opinion of Hoylonny and the form of Angel Of Mercy is good," Williams said.

"They are the two hardest to beat I think, and they race in a similar pattern to us so it will be an interesting race.

"We can't fault our little horse, he just seems to be producing all the time. He'll run a good race regardless of the result tomorrow."

Williams said he hadn't looked past Saturday's event and would be guided by how the son of General Nediym performs against some promising types.
