Trainer Chris Waller and champion jockey Damien Oliver will team up at Canterbury on Wednesday in preparation for a bigger assignment in the Doomben Cup.

The Melbourne based Oliver, who will ride the Waller-trained Triple Honour in Saturday's Group One race at Doomben, answered the call to replace the suspended Corey Brown at Canterbury.

However, Brown will be aboard leading Doomben 10,000 contender Danleigh with Oliver opting to stick with Apache Cat in the Group One on Saturday week.

"I had plenty of offers for Danleigh but at the end of the day I was rapt to get Corey," Waller said.

Oliver will ride Sixtyfour, Altered Boy and First Look for Waller at Canterbury and has also picked up rides on the Bart Cummings-trained Night Star and Joe Pride's Bellevent.

"It's great to have Damien here to ride," Waller said.

"I think both Sixtyfour and Altered Boy should run very well.

"They are both in races to suit and I'm hoping they can take the next step."

Sixtyfour was an unlucky second, beaten a half head by More Than Cash, on her debut at Canterbury on April 28 and she runs in the Bridal Service Expo (1100m).

The filly is one of the contingent of yearlings bought by Bob Ingham at the 2008 Easter Sale to build his new venture after he sold his Woodlands breeding and racing empire to Sheikh Mohammed.

Altered Boy, who contests the Children's Expo (1900m) ran second on the same day as Sixtyfour after being collared late by Bid Spotter.

First Look is resuming in the Membership Handicap (1100m) with her most recent start also resulting in a second placing.

The three-year-old was runner-up to Anatomica at Rosehill on January 10 after being blocked for clear running.

Canterbury is also the venue for a rare Saturday meeting this weekend with the Lord Mayor's Cup (1900m) the feature race.

There were 20 entries for the race including the Waller-trained Alexander Of Hales, Rowley Mile winner Lyncean Academy, his Guy Walter-trained stablemate Twin Wing and Brisbane Cup aspirant Ready To Lift.
