A wide Underwood Stakes draw might not be the disaster it seems for Heart Of Dreams if trainer Mick Price's first read on the Group One race is right.

Heart Of Dreams, the 2009 winner, drew barrier 14 in the 15-horse field for the weight-for-age race at Caulfield.

But Price says jockey Damien Oliver will be able to follow Lisa Cropp's mount Glass Harmonium, who drew barrier 12, across into the race.

"I reckon Glass Harmonium will jump and roll across and probably lead," Price said.

"I think he's a weight-for-age horse who runs his races in that manner, so if my bloke doesn't step away too slowly and we can roll forward, which we will be doing, we might get some sort of tag along in the race.

"It's an interesting race. There will be a lot of horses under a hold and finishing off.

"You've got Lights Of Heaven drawn three, there'll be some traffic there.

"So hopefully Lisa (Cropp) rolls forward and we have a nice run in the race.

"She rates those sort of horses well and they seem to find under pressure for her and 14 may not be too bad for us."

Heart Of Dreams' latest victory was in the St George Stakes over the same course and distance in the autumn when Oliver took him to the front from the outside gate.

The Show A Heart six-year-old showed he had come back well with his close first-up second to King's Rose in the Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

"He's pretty fit, he's done plenty of work and he's had three weeks between runs," Price said.

"You'll see plenty of rib on him, that's the sort of horse he is. He's cleaned-winded and I don't think fitness is an issue.

"I think he's ready to go."

The Mike Moroney-trained Glass Harmonium is also in good form as shown by his tough effort when he raced wide with no cover and stuck on gamely to beat all but the now retired Littorio in the Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) at Flemington.

That was the grey's first outing since he was runner-up to Tullamore in the Brisbane Cup (2400m) in June.

Michael Rodd was happy with reigning Victoria Derby winner Lion Tamer drawing barrier six and said his first-up run in New Zealand was exceptional.

The entire was having his first outing since the Derby when he ran fourth to King Mufhasa in the Group One Makfi Challenge (1400m) at Hastings on August 27.
