A perfect barrier draw has Josh Parr confident he can reunite with Skytrain for a stakes victory at Randwick on Saturday.

Parr hasn't ridden the Peter Snowden-trained Skytrain since claiming back-to-back races on the son of Lonhro 12 months ago.

Skytrain was installed joint favourite with Squamosa and Ladys Angel at $4.60 for Saturday's Listed June Stakes (1100m) after the final field was declared on Wednesday.

"I can't wait to get back on him, I was rapt when my manager rang me on Sunday and told me I was riding him," Parr said.

"I'll probably be going into this race on him with a lot more confidence than with any other horse just because of the record I have on him. We just seem to combine so well."

Parr has ridden Skytrain four times for two wins and two placings, including impressive victories at Rosehill in May and early June last year when the gelding put together three straight wins.

"We had a real good partnership forming there about 12 months ago, he was in a real purple patch and I think he suits my style of riding," Parr said.

"He allows me to be a little bit quieter on him in the first half of the race, ride him patiently and give him a crack at them late. That's how I seem to ride my best and that's how he races his best so we get on well together."

Skytrain will be chasing his first stakes win in the June Stakes.

His only other attempt at Listed level was in last year's Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford when he fell in the straight.

Kerrin McEvoy broke a vertebra in his back in the fall and was out for four months.

Parr said barrier three in the nine-horse field on Saturday was a big advantage as Skytrain attempts to return to the winners' circle for the first time since his fall.

"That will just make the situation so much easier for me," the jockey said of the barrier.

"We'll jump from the barriers and half the work will already be done. We'll have cover, probably be about midfield, he'll travel nicely and that will give him his chance to win."

Skytrain finished a close second in a 1030m barrier trial at Rosehill last week ahead of his return.

Equal June Stakes favourite Ladys Angel is first emergency for Saturday's $1 million Stradbroke Handicap (1400m) in Brisbane after the final field for the Queensland feature was also declared on Wednesday.
