Sydney's wet weather has trainer Greg McFarlane keeping his options open with Oopsy Doopsy ahead of Saturday's Rosehill meeting.

McFarlane has the last-start winner nominated for the $100,000 Winter Championship (1500m) and also a fillies and mares Benchmark 79 handicap over 1400m.

The trainer was originally keen to have a crack at the Winter Championship but said because of the wet conditions he wasn't going to decide on a race until later in the week.

"We are staying open-minded at the moment," McFarlane said.

"She's going really well and is probably at the peak of her preparation. I was definitely going to have a crack at the Winter Championship but I'll stay open-minded until after she works on Thursday."

Oopsy Doopsy has won four of her 14 starts including her last-start success in a 3YO Benchmark 78 Handicap (1400m) on a dead (5) at Rosehill on July 17.

On that occasion the filly ran down Hus Der Lieften to win by a head with Tim Clark in the saddle.

Clark has been booked to ride the filly if she runs in the Winter Championship while apprentice Blake Spriggs will be aboard should she run against her own sex.

"I think she's had some pretty good runs on heavy tracks so far this preparation," McFarlane said.

"I would prefer a dead track for her but I'm not overly concerned. It just depends on how she works on a wet track on Thursday morning."

McFarlane has been very happy with the preparation Oopsy Doopsy has put together so far, which has netted two city wins from five starts, but believes her best is still to come.

He said there was plenty of time to test her in black-type company in the future but for now was happy to be tackling the Sydney races where BOBS bonuses are on offer.

"I have got a bit of an opinion of the horse and in another six months she'll be a better horse again," the trainer said.

"She's still got a bit more improvement in her."

Oopsy Doopsy has the limit weight (53kg) in the Winter Championship with Civic Stakes winner Illuminates assigned topweight of 58kg.

Last-start Winter Stakes winner Mr Unforgettable is weighted on 54kg in the Winter Championship which attracted 12 nominations.

Oopsy Doopsy has 57.5kg in the Benchmark 79 should she head that way.
