Jamie Nielsen hopes to bow out a winner with his last two metropolitan runners as private trainer for Nathan Tinkler's Patinack Farm at Eagle Farm.

Three-year-old filly Blonde'N'Dangerous will line up in Wednesday's XXXX Gold Maiden Handicap (1000m) while They Won't Last will be Nielsen's last city runner for Patinack Farm in the St Margaret's Maiden (1300m).

Tinkler's Sydney-based trainer John Thompson is set to take over Patinack Farm's stables in three states with Toby Edmonds appointed as his new assistant trainer, replacing Nielsen at the Gold Coast.

Nielsen, 35, is staying on with Patinack Farm as Edmonds' foreman.

Despite the latest setback in his training career, Nielsen had copped the demotion professionally and wants to remain part of the Patinack Farm establishment.

"I'm still on good terms with Nathan (Tinkler) and I'm loyal," Nielsen said.

"I'm disappointed not to be his private trainer in Queensland but I'm happy to be part of the team in Patinack Farm's future."

Nielsen has been with Patinack Farm for two years, starting as head trainer on the Gold Coast before a decision was made to close the Queensland operation.

Nielsen was still employed by Patinack Farm when he trained at Port Macquarie for six months before returning to train on the Gold Coast when the stable was reopened last Easter.

"We've been going well lately. I had seven runners for five winners in town over a four-week period just before Christmas," he said.

Nielsen learnt his trade working for 15 years as foreman for the late Eric Kirwan and trained top gallopers Heroism, Fetes Galante and Forgotten Hero early in their careers.

He was also closely associated with former star galloper Brave Warrior who won the 1994 Magic Millions Classic and was five times placed at Group One level.

Nielsen is confident his two Eagle Farm runners will be competitive.

"They Won't Last shows a lot of promise and it was a good run when he ran second at the Gold Coast on debut," he said.

"Blonde'N'Dangerous is having her first start but I won't be surprised if she runs well.

"She had an early trial and went well but she only went ordinary in her recent trial.

"But we think the heat might have affected her that day."
