As people watched in awe as More Joyous cantered to her fifth Group One victory, her jockey Nash Rawiller admitted the mare gave him goosebumps.

"She sends shivers up my spine," Rawiller said.

"And she's still got improvement in her."

She might need a little of that improvement under handicap conditions in the Doncaster Mile in two weeks, but her owner-breeder John Singleton has already declared the result.

"The Doncaster is all over," he said.

"And I want it to be over so I can take her home and give her a pat every day.

"There was never a worry."

Sent out the $1.24 favourite in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1500m), More Joyous settled just behind her stablemate, race leader Montana Flyer ($81).

She stalked her into the straight and stepped into another gear inside the 300m mark.

Montana Flyer weakened and it was left to Melito ($8.50) to give chase.

Try as she might, Melito could only get within 2-3/4 lengths of More Joyous under hard riding while the winner when to the line untouched.

Happy Hippy ($51) ran on from last on the turn to finish 1-3/4 lengths behind Melito whose trainer Gerald Ryan was among those admiring the winner.

"Melito was strong and I'm proud of her," Ryan said.

"It's a pity the two have to race together.

"Melito ran where I thought she would and she is my More Joyous."

Ryan said Melito's performance had added impetus to the plan to send her to Hong Kong for next month's Champions Mile.

"On that run I think she will definitely go," he said.

"I think More Joyous would win the Hong Kong race if she was there, she won't be so we will go."

Gai Waterhouse trains More Joyous and is starting to run out of superlatives.

"She looks after herself, she does everything right, she is just outstanding," she said.

Perhaps Melito's jockey Hugh Bowman put it best.

"My mare ran a great race, the winner is too good," he said.

"I can't say anything you didn't see for yourself."
