Top jockey Kerrin McEvoy will miss Saturday's Emirates Stakes meeting at Flemington after he lost his appeal against a seven-meeting suspension for careless riding on Melbourne Cup day.

Replacement riders will now have be found for McEvoy's seven rides on the 10-race card which included favoured Peter Snowden-trained gallopers Musket in the Chris Isaak Handicap and Drumbeats in the Listed Hilton International Stakes.

He was also booked for stablemates Marching, the fourth emergency in the Group One Emirates Stakes, Falaise in the Emirates Airline Handicap and Togni in the Grazia Trophy.

His other mounts were the Mike Moroney-trained Divine Rebel in the Group Two Matriarch Stakes and I Am Invincible from the Hawkes yard in the Perle Vintage Sprint.

Steven King has already been booked as his replacement on I Am Invincible.

McEvoy was suspended from midnight on Thursday night for careless riding on Neroli in the Herald Sun Stakes (1400m) last Tuesday and cannot ride again until next Friday.

Hong Kong-based jockey Brett Prebble also had his appeal against the decision and severity of a 10-meeting suspension from Thursday's Oaks day meeting dismissed.

He was found guilty of careless riding on Sarem near the 1300-metres in the Myer Spring Fashion Stakes (1800m).

After Friday's Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board hearing Prebble flew back to Hong Kong and will start his suspension after fulfilling riding engagements there on Saturday.

Prebble's suspension finishes at midnight on November 17 preventing him from riding at Sha Tin on November 16 which is the important lead-up program to the Hong Kong International Race Day on December 14.

James Winks on Friday had his seven-day suspension reduced on appeal from seven meetings to five meetings and is now allowed to ride at next Wednesday's Bendigo Cup fixture.

Winks was found guilty of careless riding on Secret Flyer in the tab.mobi (1400m) on Cup day.
