A chance flick through the Queensland Racing calendar could prove fortuitous for trainer Graeme Murray who will start consistent sprinter Kenny's World in Saturday's George Moore Stakes at Doomben.

Murray was having trouble finding a suitable target for Kenny's World in Sydney and it wasn't until the Queensland race program arrived in the post five weeks ago that he considered Brisbane as an option.

"I was sitting with a few mates having a beer and we'd been sent the Queensland calendar, I happened to go through it because there wasn't a lot for the horse in Sydney," Murray said.

"Then I saw this race and I thought if he performed well last start at Rosehill, which he did, then I would bring him up here."

Saturday's Group Three $200,000 race will be Kenny's World's first interstate assignment.

The five-year-old travelled to the Gold Coast by float earlier this week, arriving on Tuesday morning, and Murray said he handled the trip well.

"He travelled really well, he's eaten up, he's drinking up, it's just like he's at home," Murray said.

The gelding was placed in both the Listed Canterbury Classic and Group Three Frederick Clissold Stakes earlier this year before he was discovered to have a bone chip.

Murray gave him a good break and Kenny's World showed he had no residual effects from his injury, finishing runner-up to Allervite and Posadas at his first two starts this campaign before breaking through for a win at Rosehill last start.

Posadas subsequently finished second to the brilliant Lucky Secret in the Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Sandown before winning again at Moonee Valley last start.

"Posadas has gone on to run second in Melbourne and then win in Melbourne last weekend so the form around him is looking pretty good," Murray said.

Matthew Palmer had three rides on Kenny's World early in the gelding's career for one win and will be reunited with him on Saturday.

However, with 21 nominations for the George Moore Stakes (1200m) Murray is sweating on a good barrier draw.

"There looks to be plenty of speed in the race," Murray said.

"If they go hammer and tong in front, hopefully we can get a good barrier and take a sit in behind them.

"The barrier will be pretty crucial."

Kenny's World is one of 10 horses on the 53kg limit with weights headed by The Jackal who has 59.5kg, 1.5kg more than Group Two Expressway Stakes winner Burdekin Blues.
