Anthony Cummings is hoping Turffontein's Group One victory in the William Reid Stakes is just the beginning as he steps up preparations for the remainder of his autumn carnival team.

The under-rated sprinter scored a dogged victory in Saturday's feature race at Moonee Valley, his second Group One in Melbourne following his Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes success last spring.

Cummings now has his sights on next month's Newmarket Handicap (1200m) at Flemington for Turffontein, setting up a clash with the likes of the brilliant All Silent.

"He is an absolute Group One horse," Cummings said.

"We looked at what was here for him in Sydney and there are some nice races but they're not $500,000 sprint races and there are two of those in Melbourne.

"There was the (William Reid) and the Newmarket and that's where he will go next."

Cummings could have two runners in the feature sprint with Sister Madly recovering well from a strained muscle which delayed her return.

A half-sister to world champion sprinter Silent Witness, the filly has raced just five times and was runner-up to More Joyous in the Group One Flight Stakes in the spring.

Cummings says Sister Madly is over her setback and he is keen to target her towards the Robert Sangster Stakes in Adelaide.

"She's fine and she's a chance to run in the Newmarket as well," Cummings said.

"There is a Group Two race in Adelaide at the same time and also the Robert Sangster which I think is the right race for her."

Cummings may chase another Group One success in Melbourne this Saturday with Seeking Attention who will be nominated for the Oakleigh Plate (1100m).

The mare was seventh to Nicconi first-up in the Lightning Stakes (1000m) and Cummings said he would weigh up his options.

"I've thought about Seeking Attention for the Oakleigh Plate and it's not out of the question but there is a mares race on the same day and I might take the cheaper option," he said.

"I'll nominate her for both and see what we do."

The Randwick-based trainer will also be represented in the feature race in Sydney on Saturday with George Main Stakes winner Road To Rock set to resume in the Group Two Apollo Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill.

Adelaide is also the likely destination for Zavite who had a torrid run in last Monday's Hobart Cup when seventh to Growl.

Zavite won last year's Group Two Adelaide Cup (3200m) and Cummings's plans this year included the Group One Auckland Cup but the rigours of his Hobart run forced a re-think.

"He had a tough run in Hobart and Auckland is now unlikely," Cummings said.

"He is getting over the run and Adelaide is back on the agenda."

The Auckland Cup is on March 6, two days before the Adelaide feature.
