Sentimental Golden Slipper favourite Chance Bye has tuned up for Saturday week's $3.5 million race with a leisurely exhibition gallop between races at Kembla Grange.

The fairytale filly who was bought by trainer Michael Tubman for just $15,000 and is unbeaten in three starts, worked solo over 1000 metres at three quarter pace with race jockey Kathy O'Hara in the saddle.

She wasn't out to break any records clocking 1:04.41s and was hand timed to run her final 600 metres in 35.52s.

The youngster was controversially beaten in a track gallop with the Paul Murray-trained Phenomenal Lass at Kembla earlier this month, when she worked harder than Tubman and O'Hara had hoped but both were pleased with her hit-out on Sunday.

"She did too much work last time so we just let her go comfortably today and her last furlong she sprinted up really well," O'Hara said.

"I was very happy with that, it was very good."

Tubman was always satisfied with Chance Bye's work and said she was spot-on for her grand final day at Rosehill on Easter Saturday.

"Magic. Two weeks out from the Slipper, that was all we wanted to see her do," Tubman said.

"Her last gallop was a stuff-up."

Tubman said Chance Bye would work at three-quarter pace on Thursday and have her final gallop on the Tuesday before the showpiece race.

The filly is a $9 chance for the Slipper with TAB Sportsbet along with Solar Charged who has drifted after suffering her first defeat when third to Military Rose in Saturday's Reisling Stakes.

A brilliant winner of the Magic Millions in January, Military Rose was installed the new favourite at $3.60 while Saturday's Todman Stakes winner Masquerader firmed into $15.

Tubman watched both two-year-old races and was happy with the result, believing the Golden Slipper was there for the taking.

"It's just luck on the day and the barrier draw," he said.
