Star apprentice Timothy Bell's move to Sydney could come sooner than expected with the 17-year-old inundated with offers from a number of leading trainers.

But Bell, won't be rushed into making any rash decision and wants to confer with his family and his boss, Tamworth trainer Sue Grills.

Bell is keen to move to Sydney to take advantage of his two kilogram claim.

His first intentions were to remain based at Tamworth and make regular trips to Brisbane and Sydney on Saturdays for at least another 12 months while with Grills.

"I'll probably end up going in about six months," Bell said.

"I've got a few options but I want to discuss them first with my boss first and Shane Cullen who is the chief steward in our area.

"Shane is very good when it comes to advice and I also will need to talk to Mum and Dad."

A number of leading Sydney trainers, including Gai Waterhouse, have approached Bell to make a Sydney move earlier than he first intended.

"I don't want to say who has approached me but I've spoken with a number of the top stables," Bell said.

"I'm still looking for the right offer at this stage as it's important to start off with the right stable.

"I'm still not mature enough yet in my riding but hopefully I will be in another six months.

"When I go I want to transfer to a trainer who can also help teach me more."

"At this stage I'm still weighing up my options but when I do go I want to be flying.

"It's been my dream and goal to ride in Sydney."

Living in Sydney alone and away from his family and friends won't worry Bell who lives by himself in Tamworth.

"Living by myself won't be a problem. I'm doing that now and I do all the cooking," he said.
