Just two days after watching Sniper's Bullet win the Railway Stakes in Perth, trainer Tracey Bartley was back home building fences at his Mudgee property.

The self confessed boy from the bush had little time to celebrate the gelding's second Group One victory, his first success since the 2007 Stradbroke Handicap.

"I'm back home, there's always something to do out here," Bartley said.

Bartley and owners Roger and Nerida Atkinson who also hail from western NSW will decide later this week whether to give Sniper's Bullet another tilt at the Group One Kingston Town Stakes (1800m) in Perth or bring him back to the 1400 metres of the Scahill Stakes a week later on December 12.

"We've got to consider the Kingston Town," Bartley said.

"He ran third in it last year to the horse (Niconero) that went on to win the Australian Cup.

"We'll know in a couple of days where we go with him but I think ridden positively like he was on Saturday gives him his best chance.

"He's pulled up good from Saturday which is the main thing."

Nash Rawiller rode Sniper's Bullet aggressively out of the barrier in the Railway (1600m) and the six-year-old responded to the tactics.

He had plenty left at the finish leaving several more fancied rivals, including All American and Ortensia, struggling.

While he contemplates where Sniper's Bullet goes next, Bartley will turn his attention to two-year-olds Marchinella and Surpassing who are both entered for Randwick on Saturday.

A full sister to Marchinski who now races in Hong Kong as Vital Flyer, Marchinella ran second to Surpassing in a barrier trial at Dubbo on November 15.

The Magic Albert filly out of Elishir is also a half sister to the well-performed Theophorus and stakes winner Shepishir.

"She is more like Theophorus than Marchinski, she's a grey," Bartley said.

"They are both nice fillies but I may keep Surpassing for Canberra the day after.

"I nominated them both for Randwick because there are not a lot of races around for them."

The 1000m race for two-year-olds on the Canberra Cup program is the Black Opal Qualifier with the winner exempt from a ballot for the Black Opal run early next year.

As well as looking forward to Sniper's Bullet's next start, Bartley hopes his brother Slick Sniper can win a major event at home with the Mudgee Cup (1600m) on December 4 his target.

Slick Sniper ran third to Parfumier in Friday's Goulburn Cup over the same distance.
