High profile jockey Glen Boss' chances of riding in Saturday's Golden Slipper at Rosehill depend on the mercy of Victoria's Racing Appeals And Disciplinary Board.

Boss has appealed the stewards' decision and severity of a careless riding suspension incurred at Cranbourne on Sunday.

Boss, who has ridden 70 Group One winners, has been booked to ride the Clarry Conners-trained Georgette Silk in the $3.5 million Golden Slipper and the Lee Freedman-trained Speed Gifted in $2.25 million BMW.

The RAD Board will hear the appeal at 10.30am on Thursday.

Racing Victoria stewards outed Boss for 10 meetings including three metropolitan fixtures.

He started the suspension on midnight on Sunday and did not seek a stay of proceedings.

As the suspension stands, Boss cannot return to race riding until April 8.

He was found guilty of a charge of careless riding on Hearts And Arrows which made a winning debut in the Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate.

Stewards said Boss permitted Hearts And Arrows to shift in near the 150m when not clear of The Big Hawk resulting in that gelding being taken in and causing Mr Molokai to be checked.

Stewards said the interference was in the low range category.

Boss believes he has a good case as he said he stopped riding Hearts And Arrows and corrected the filly as soon as she began to lay in.

Boss will ride Speed Gifted in his final lead-up gallop at Warwick Farm on Tuesday.

He will also ride Georgette Silk and Speed Gifted's stablemate The Comedian in trackwork.

Boss has been engaged to ride Walking Or Dancing in the George Ryder Stakes for Wyong trainer Brett Partelle and The Comedian in the Tulloch Stakes.

Boss was on his first day back riding at Cranbourne following an eight-day ban for careless riding aboard Walking Or Dancing when he won the Newcastle Newmarket on March 17.
