Long-serving administrator Alan Brown will lead a new-look Racing NSW board.

Mr Brown was elected unanimously as chairperson when the five-member board met on official business for the first time on Friday.

"We have a very experienced and talented board who have all established enormous enthusiasm and commitment to the job at hand," he said in a Racing NSW statement.

"I am sure we have the capacity to fulfill the industry's expectations of us."

Mr Brown was a Sydney Turf Club director from 1983 and became chairperson in 2005. He served in that capacity until stepping down when his Racing NSW appointment was confirmed last week.

Mr Alan Bell, a prominent veterinarian and racehorse owner, was elected deputy chairperson.

Brown and Bell will be joined on the board by Ken Brown, Kim Harding and Arthur Inglis.
