Racing Victoria has today announced two international horses here for the Melbourne spring will race under different names.

UK mare Ambivalent, trained by emerging young mentor Roger Varian, will be known as My Ambivalent, while OTI Racing’s Van Percy will race as Lord Van Percy.

A last start runner-up in the famous Ebor Handicap, the Andrew Balding-trained Lord Van Percy has had his name changed to avoid any possible confusion with the South Australian Van Persie.

In the case of Ambivalent, the mare of the same name trained by Ken Lanty in NSW will now not be confused with the UK import here for the Carnival.
