Amazing tipping...BB lands Champagne Esprit $39.00

In what must rank as one of the finest tipping achievements since the PPD Club began in 1995, editor Brian Blackwell landed FOUR best bet winners on Wednesday, including his headlined longshot special CHAMPAGNE ESPRIT $39.00/$10.00 at Sandown Lakeside. Brian’s other best bet winners were WORDPLAY $3.00 and TALENT $6.40 at Warwick farm and RHYTHM TO SPARE $2.20 at Sandown Lakeside. Here’s how BB advised our members of the PPD Club – word for word:

CHAMPAGNE ESPRIT 1^st $39.00

With Harry Coffey claiming 3kgs, (18) Champagne Esprit 20/1 gets her chance at good odds in race 8, a mares BM70 hdcp 1200m at Sandown Lakeside on Wednesday. The Bel Esprit 6YO, trained by Darren Weir, found all sorts of strife trying to secure a clear run in the straight when 10^th/14 in a BM70 at Echuca 1200m on Aug 19. She was btn almost 5 lens but should have been a lot closer. She likes today’s trip, she gets in with 54kgs and, of course, she has the Weir polish.

WORDPLAY 1^st $3.00
After a terrific debut outing, (16) Wordplay 3/1 should be good enough to notch her first career win in race 2, a 3YO Filles Mdn Plate 1400m at Warwick Farm. She raced in the ruck to the turn in a Mdn 3YOF 1300m at Warwick Farm on Aug 14, came wide into the straight and sustained a strong run to the line – an indicator she will relish today’s extra 100m. The Anthony Cummings-trained Fastnet Rock filly is drawn wide but that shouldn’t stop her – especially with the reliable Peter Robl aboard.

TALENT 1^st $6.40

Solid form at her recent starts point to a big run from Peter Snowden’s mare (16) Talent 4/1 in race 7, a BM70 hdcp 1600m at Warwick Farm on Wednesday. She should get a cosy passage from her inside barrier draw (#3). Last start, on Aug 14, she closed well from 10^th on the turn to finish 4^th/15 at Warwick Farm 1400m, btn just over a half length by the useful Marmadane. That followed her 3^rd/14 over the WFarm 1400m in 3YO BM70 class on July 31, btn 1.8 lens by Red Excitement.
