Looks like Vlad Duric's love affair with Singapore is over...He's been suspended for 3 months for failing to give his mount every possibility of winning at the Kranji circuit. Duric, who won the 2007 Caulfield Cup on Master O'Reilly, is appealing. Good luck to that! No-one admits to a mistake in Singapore.

German stayer Lucas Cranach could become the first choice Melbourne Cup mount for leading jockey Corey Brown, says Racing & Sports website. It adds that Brown, winner of the 2009 Melbourne Cup on Shocking, has been invited to get the feel of Lucas Cranach in a track gallop at Werribee on Tuesday. Lucas Cranach is now in quarantine at Werribee International Horse Centre under the care of trainer Anthony Freedman's brother Lee Freedman.
